Flickr stats and big surprises

Flickr launched a simple user stats page today. We get info on how many views our photo stream gets, which of our photos are most popular and where all of that traffic comes from.
I got a shock when I saw how many people are visiting my photos. For starters, it’s more than visit Schoolboy Error ;).
I think we’re going to see a lot more surprised flickr users in the weeks to come. If views make you happy then go ahead and activate your own flickr stats. You’ll be all smiles.

I’ve never been one for stats (in fact, I generally don’t appreciate them, because then it all becomes a numbers game) but I enabled Flickr stats yesterday and was shocked that I still get around 1,000 visits a day on that site, despite not putting as much time in it as I used to.
Yay for Flickr for implementing this, but let’s hope that people don’t take these stats and change their Flickr uploads and usage because of them.
Couldn’t agree more Sameer.
I promise I won’t change what I upload to flickr ;)
