Fear (or lack of it)

Jevon is a great thermometer for the health and wellness of the Toronto startup community. He writes a great startup blog, organizes entrepreneurial events and generally know everyone in town. So, this tweet of his this morning was a little worrying.

My reaction was contrarian and full of optimism (or stupidity). I DM’d this to him as I ran about my day…

I’m not scared. Big change = big opportunities. And financial crisis means larger companies (competition) are preoccupied w/ cost cutting. – PEMA

And he wrote back…

Now is the time to get big and strong while others are scared and flailing. Build brand, build relationships. All of it – JEVON

So, go build something great (or keep building) and I’ll stay up and do a few more hours work on my “pet project” ;)
